Strudda Bank is located in a beautiful unspoilt area of the Lake District with so many lovely things to do just on the doorstep

You can explore a range of fantastic walks from the farm gates, including the ancient oak woodlands of the Calder valley or just stroll along the banks of the rive. Discover the beautiful packhorse bridge, Monks Bridge, known locally as Matty Benns Bridge, which is steeped in history.

  • Bradleys Riding Centre 5miles 

  • Seascale Beach and play area with Mawsons Ice cream parlour - 7miles 

  • St Bees beach and play area with Hartleys Ice cream and Tea rooms. Enjoy a lovely walk to the top of St Bees Head - 9miles 

  • The Ravenglass and Eskdale railway 'the lal ratty'  - 10 miles 

  • Muncaster castle and Gardens - 10 miles 

  • The tranquil Eskdale and Wasdale Valley - find the deepest lake of Wastwater, and the tallest mountain of Scarfell Pike

  • The beautiful harbour town of Whitehaven, home to 'The Rum Story' and the Beacon museum - 11miles

  • The ancient market town of cockermouth which is famous for being the birthplace of William Wordsworth, and home to the beautiful Wordsworth House 

  • Travel just that little bit further to Keswick, home to the Lake District pencil museum, Puzzling place, King Kong play, Whinlatter and Go Ape, the Lake district wildlife park and of course beautiful Derwent water where you you can find Surprise View and Ashness Bridge.
